Inspired by children for children, developing essential skills for the cooks of tomorrow.

A not-for-profit enterprise with a mission to teach children how to cook healthy recipes independently. Cook School is all about getting young people, from ages five to twenty-one, excited about food. Empowering them through invaluable skills gained in accessible, educational, affordable and fun cookery lessons hosted across the nation. Teaching children about food, cookery and nutrition gives children the best chance of making healthy choices. At Cook School we believe it’s never too early to start children on this journey.

Co-founded by leading food educator and award-winning children’s cookbook author Amanda Grant, Cook School has a number of key ambassadors supporting its work including Claire Ptak of London’s Violet Bakery, Chantelle Nicholson, Skye McAlpine and Stefan Gates.

Cook School’s first student ambassador is Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the 2018 winner of the 10 & Under category, Ruby Smend.

Through its partnership with Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year, the Oxford Cultural Collective will explore food photography from multiple perspectives, from its role in fields such as publishing and personal branding, to its potential to generate new thinking. In addition, it will revisit historic photographic archives to celebrate the work of acclaimed food photographers and to reveal how the genre has changed over time.
